Although I find all of this new technology to be an amazing business resource, it is sometimes frustrating when you realize how much of it is out of your control.
My team had no intention to 'violate' any of Facebook's rules...but that is apparently what happened.
After my account was shut down, my staff and I wrote Facebook in an effort to explain what we did, and why we were confused as to why it was a violation of their terms of service. We are currently awaiting to see if someone at Facebook will take our case under consideration.
One thing this issue has certainly taught me is how something you have worked so hard to create on the web, can so easily be taken away from you in this new world of online technology.
And that is a very good lesson.
I do hope Facebook will re-activate my account. However at the same time I am going to start creating alternative ways to communicate with the over 2,500 friends I had on Facebook when my account was shut down.
To get started on that, I would like any of you who were my Facebook friends to send me an e-mail so I can put you on my blog and e-mail list.
I look forward to hearing from you. and being in communication with you again.
UPDATE: Facebook has been re-instated.
