Scott Daly Signs with Dallas Cowboys

Scott Daly University of Notre Dame Snapper Signs with Dallas Cowboys

Scott Daly at Coach Zauner's 2018 Free Agent Combine
About two weeks after Coach Zauner's Free Agent Combine on March 12th and 13th 2018, I received a call from Scott Daly telling me "Coach, I had a great workout the other day with the Dallas Cowboys and they are offering me an NFL Contract.  All I could say was "Great News!"

Scott Daly in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a ONE on ONE Snapping Lesson
I first met snapper Scott Daly about four years ago when he was a junior at the University of Notre Dame.  All I can say is "what I nice young man".

I first started working with Scott in the spring of 2015 when he came to Fountain Hills, Arizona for his first ONE on ONE Snapping Lesson.

For the next couple of years I would either see Scott in the Spring or Summer for a ONE on ONE Snapping Lesson or he would attend one of my Snappers ONLY "Vital" Man Training Camps either in Arizona in January or Wisconsin in July.

This year in February Scott again came to Arizona for another ONE on ONE Snapping Lesson to prepare for my Free Agent Combine in March.

During the lesson we continued working on his blocking technique but the focus was on trying to improve his snapping speed.  Since graduation he has been in a couple of NFL camps but always released.  One of the repeated comments by NFL Coaches was his snapping speed.

Well, that issue has been resolved.  In the last year Scott has worked a couple of drills to improve his speed and his hard work has paid off.  A contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

Coach Zauner's Snapping Programs in the last 9 years have produced 26 snappers on NFL and CFL rosters.  This year University of Oregon snapper, Tanner Carew was invited to the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine.  Hopefully, in the fall there will be at least two more snappers on NFL rosters.

Good Luck To Scott Daly!

Coach Zauner's Programs Produce Results For College Specialists

Coach Zauner's Programs Produce Results For College Specialists

"My Happiness as a Teacher/Coach comes from the success my Students/Specialists receive!"

This Year I Was A Very, Very, Very Happy Teacher and Coach!

Throughout my 40+ coaching career, I have now coached, consulted and trained 120 plus NFL and CFL kicking specialists, including 25 PRO Bowlers. And these numbers are increasing every year.

This was a very good year for Coach Zauner's Programs.  After coaching 11 years in college at BYU, San Diego State, University of New Mexico and Long Beach State and another 13 years in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals I decided to go back into my Snapping, Punting and Kicking Consulting Business.

Since 2007 I have been doing ONE on ONE Snapping, Punting and Kicking Lessons for high school, college, free agent and professional specialists.  I also offer PRO Development Camps in January and May in Arizona and July in Wisconsin for all levels of kicking specialists.

A big part of Coach Zauner's Programs and NFL Networking are the College Senior Combine in February and the Free Agent Combine in March.  Both are producing results for NFL and CFL Teams and all the specialists attending.
Coach Zauner's Snapping Programs Produce (6) Snappers on NFL Rosters
After a long summer of training and specialists going into training camps several snappers that have participated in Coach Zauner's Snapping Programs made NFL rosters.
2018 Snapping and Kicking Award Winners
In December I first learned that one of my prize ONE on ONE students, Jace Christmann (Mississippi State) was honored by receiving the SEC All Freshman Award followed with a 2018 Freshman All-American Award.   Congrats to Jace!  He was a walk-on kicker that deserves to be rewarded with a scholarship!

In August I learned another ONE on ONE Kicker and walk-on at the University of Utah had made the roster.  In September became the starter and in December won the Lou Groza Award.  What a story that was.  Congrats to Matthew Gay for his unbelievable achievement.  As a walk-on he also deserves a scholarship.

After the 2017 football season in late December the post season Bowl Games invites went out.  It was a great year for Snappers.

In the last 9 years Coach Zauner's Snapping Programs have produced 25 Snappers on NFL and CFL rosters.  This is probably a result of many of these snappers come to Arizona for ONE on ONE Snapping Lessons, attend my Snappers ONLY 'Vital Man' Training Camps and then participate in either of my College Senior or Free Agent Combines.

Coach Zauner's Snapping Programs Produced Results for College Snappers
First Tanner Carew Called me in late November to inform me of his invite to the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl. Next, Jake Wirsching (Bemidji State) was selected for the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.  Then Ike Powell was selected to the Senior Bowl.  Finally, Hunter Bradley was invited to the East / West Shrine Bowl.  Congrats to all the snappers for their hard work throughout their careers and getting well deserved Bowl Game invites.

Joe Cardona (Patriots), Rick Lovato (Eagles) and Jeff Overbaugh (Vikings)
In January of 2018 came the NFL Playoff Games. Three of the Snappers playing in the Semi-Final Games had all attended my PRO Development Camps for Specialists.  Now, I have re-named those Camps to Coach Zauner's Snapper's ONLY 'Vital Man' Training Camps.  More geared to Snappers that have a Dream to play in the NFL someday.

I'm proud to say I worked many ONE on ONE Snapping Lessons with Jeff Overbaugh (San Diego State) and Rick Lovato (Old Dominion) for years. I hope I played a small part in their success during their careers.  Below is a great picture of the two snappers after their playoff game.
Rick Lovato (Philadelphia Eagles) and Jeff Overbaugh (Minnesota Vikings)
So, after looking at everything that happened this year and all the awards have come out, I am very  Happy with the impact Coach Zauner's Programs are having in todays Kicking World.

In July of 2018 I first met Auburn University's snapper, Ike Powell when he attended Coach Zauner's Snappers ONLY 'Vital Man' Training Camp in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In the last several years Coach Zauner has worked with many of the top High School, College and Free Agent Snappers.  His ONE on ONE Snapping Lessons and Snapper's ONLY 'Vital Man' Training Camps have exposed young Snappers to a PRO Style of Snapping, Blocking and Coverage Techniques.

In 2016 twenty-four snappers attended the July Snappers ONLY Training Camp in Milwaukee, WI. These camps were designed specifically for any High School Elite or College Snapper that has a dream of playing in the NFL.

In these 'Vital Man' Training Camps, I try to expose all these young snappers to a PRO Style of snapping, various types of blocking footwork, protections and coverage technique.

In 2017 Ike Powell returned again to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for his next Coach Zauner's 'Vital Man' Training Camp.  This camp had 20 high skilled and motivated snappers.  There was a lot of drill work on snapping consistency, NFL protection footwork, and various blocking techniques.
Scott Daly (Notre Dame), Nolan Dowling (W. Kentucky), Hunter Bradley (Mississippi St.) and Ike Powell
Scott Daly (Notre Dame) and Nolan Dowling (Western Kentucky) were in the 2017 NFL draft and were back in camp trying to get better.  Both were invited to NFL mini camps but were not signed to contracts.
Ike Powell Attends Coach Zauner's 2017 'Vital Man' Training Camp in Wisconsin
These 'Vital Man' Training Camps are producing results for many college snappers. Ike Powell  and Tanner Carew (University of Oregon) were both invited to the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl while Jake Wirsching (Bemidji State) was invited to the 2018 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and Hunter Bradley (Mississippi State) attended the East / West Shrine Game.

For two years I have seen Ike Powell up close during these Snappers 'Vital Man' Training Camps.  He is always listening and looking to get better and has show me to be very coachable.

South Specialists: JK Scott (Alabama), Ike Powell and Daniel Carlson (Auburn)
Auburns specialists have benefited from having Ike as their snapper.  This year Auburn's kicker, Daniel Carlson along with Ike Powell have both been rewarded for their success with an invite to Reese's 2018 Senior Bowl.

I have seen Ike for two years in camp and will work with him more after the Senior Bowl when he moves to Phoenix, Arizona to continue his training.   I believe Ike is a NFL Prospect.  He is one of the top snappers coming out in this years 2018 NFL Draft.

I wish Ike the best of luck in pursuing his dream of playing on Sundays for an NFL Team.

Tanner Carew University of Oregon Snapper and NFL Prospect

NFL Prospect, Tanner Carew University of Oregon Snapper

Tanner Carew University of Oregon Snapper
I first met University of Oregon Snapper, Tanner Carew about two years ago when he came to Fountain Hills, Arizona for a ONE on ONE Snapping Lesson.

I believe Tanner had heard about me from his teammate Aidan Schneider the University of Oregon Kicker, who I had been working and training since his sophomore year at Oregon.

Later that year he came to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for his next ONE on ONE Snapping Lesson. There he and a very good snapping friend Scott Daly, from the University of Notre Dame worked out together at my summer location at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

2017 was going to be Tanner's final college season.  He was working his butt off to be the best he could be.  He came to Arizona twice in the spring.  The first visit was for a ONE on ONE Snapping Lesson and the next visit was to attend one of my a PRO Development Camp for College, Free Agent and Elite High School Snappers, Punters and Kickers.

In the last two years I have worked a lot with Tanner on his footwork and blocking technique.  In my opinion there are many good college snappers, but the difference between those college snappers that make it into NFL training camps or make final rosters, are those that can snap consistently and block an NFL rusher.

Coach Zauner's Lessons and Snapping Camps Produce Results for College Snappers
Just a quick note.

These 'Vital Man' Training Camps are producing results for many college snappers. Tanner and Ike Powell (Auburn) were both invited to the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl while Jake Wirsching (Bemidji State) was invited to the 2018 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and Hunter Bradley (Mississippi State) attended the East / West Shrine Game.

In the last two years that I have worked with Tanner, he has shown me to be not only coachable but also willing to try anything.  As I tell all the kicking specialists I train, "When you get to an NFL mini or training camp, many NFL coaches might ask you to do something a little different then what I'm asking or telling you to do".  "You need to adapted and try to conform to what that NFL coach wants you to do to fit into his system.

Tanner is what I term a quick study.  He can adapt or adjust to just about anything I throw at him.  However, he and all specialist have to find out what works best for them.
Tanner Carew Working Punt Protection Footwork During ONE on ONE Snapping Lesson
Tanner has now finished his senior season and has been rewarded for his hard work and successful career with an invite to the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl.  Tanner Carew will be the snapper for the North Team and Ike Powell (Auburn) will be the snapper for the South Team.
Coach Zauner with Ike Powell (Auburn) and Tanner Carew (Oregon)
Tanner was already an excellent snapper when I first met him.  I'm proud to say I had a chance to work and train him for the last two years and expose him to how an NFL Coach thinks and coaches specialists.  I just hope I played a small part in his success.  As a teacher and coach, I and any teacher finds success in seeing their students get better and be successful.

Being invited to the Senior Bowl was a big start.  But than being invited to the NFL Combine was huge.  Every year the NFL Combine invites what they consider to be the best ranked or rated snapper by their scouting services.  This year the 2018 NFL Combine committee selected Tanner Carew.

Being selected to the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine is not a sure thing of being drafted.  However, his chances are better than most.  I hope he will get a chance to play on Sundays, like many of his snapping friends and fulfill his dream of playing for an NFL Team.  Good Luck Tanner!
