Coach Zauner's Arizona Football Kicking Combine is specifically designed for Free Agent Snapping, Punting and Kicking Specialists who are seeking to gain exposure to NFL and CFL Football Teams. 

Specialists must qualify to participate for this Free Agent Combine which is heavily attended by many NFL and CFL (Canadian Football League) Special Teams Coordinators, Assistant  Special Teams Coaches, Directors of PRO Personnel and NFL Scouts.

Any specialists that has not signed an NFL contract must qualify for the combine.  Specialists have the option to qualify the day before the Free Agent Combine on Sunday March 11, 2018 or at any Coach Zauner PRO Development Camp in January, May or July or doing a ONE on ONE Lesson or evaluation appointment in Fountain Hills, AZ or Milwaukee, WI. 

In 2017 there were 130 specialists that attempted to qualify for the event.  94 specialists did qualify to showcase their talents in front of the 30 attending NFL and CFL Teams.

Coach Zauner, a former NFL Special Teams Coordinator has always had a reputation for having an "Eye" for finding, developing and producing NFL and CFL Snapping, Punting and Kicking Talent.  Throughout his 40 plus year coaching and consulting career, he has now coached, consulted and trained 120 + kicking specialists, including 25 PRO Bowlers.

Coach Zauner's 2015 College Senior Combine once again produced the exposure and results the attending specialists wanted, needed and deserved.

The College Senior Combine is for any draft eligible kicker, punter and snapper that feels he has NFL potential.  It is a combine that NFL Coaches, Scouts and Directors of College or Pro Scouting can not

attend by NFL rule.  Therefore, the NFL and CFL (Canadian Football League) Coaches and Scouts rely on Coach Zauner's Eye for Talent and recommendations to pursue talent that was not invited to the Senior Bowl or NFL Combine.

Example with Punters: Johnny Hekker (St. Louis Rams), Sam Martin (Detroit Lions), and Tress Way (Washington Redskins).  All three of these punters did not get invited to play in an after season bowl game, Senior Bowl or NFL Combine.

Example with Snappers: Morgan Cox (Baltimore Ravens), Justin Drescher (N.O. Saints), Christian Yount (Cleveland Browns), Beau Brinkley (Tennessee Titans), Kyle Nelson (S.F. 49ers) and Kevin McDermott (Minnesota Vikings).

On February 27, 28 & March 1, 2015, (86) Specialists participated in Coach Zauner 7th Annual College Senior Combine.  Of those specialists only (70) Specialists wanted their stats posted or given to the NFL Teams that attended my Free Agent Combine held the following week.

Some specialists did very well, others had a bad or poor showing.  That is why I give every specialists the ability or option to post or not post their results.  If a specialists did not have a good showing but showed NFL potential I still gave my opinion to my NFL Network of contacts when asked if that player attended the combine.

I would never want to give a bad recommendation or hurt any specialists ability to have a chance to play professional football.  Especially, when his college career should be highly regarded has his best resume.

Jeff Overbaugh San Diego State Snapper Perfect Career

First and for most I would like to congratulate Jeff Overbaugh

for his outstanding and 'Perfect' snapping career at San Diego State

In 1980 I was hired by Head Coach, Doug Scovil as the Special Teams Coach at San Diego State.  It was my first full time position and matter of fact I became the first Full-Time Special Teams Coach in NCAA history.  Most college football teams had their staffs coach the kicking game by committee or had a position coach organize their kicking game. I was hired just to coach Special Teams and the kicking specialists.  It was a First!

With that said, about three years ago I had a snapping camp here in Phoenix, Arizona and when Jeff Overbaugh introduced himself to me, all I could think about - An Aztec!  There was an instant bond!  

At the first practice I quickly noticed that this Aztec had some real snapping potential. The previous snapper at San Diego State, who was Aaron Brewer is now snapping for the Denver Broncos. So, San Diego State must be doing something right especially with long snappers.

In the past two years Jeff has worked hard not only becoming a better snapper but also working on his blocking technique and coverage skills.  I told him if he wants to be an NFL snapper he needs the full package.

At the present time San Diego State has a pretty good team and a possibility of a Bowl Game.  I wish the Aztec's and Jeff Overbaugh continued success and good luck in the future.  Go Aztecs!

After the season Jeff will be moving to Fountain Hills, Arizona to start training for his next opportunity either Coach Zauner's College Senior Combine or his PRO Day or Who Knows, Maybe More!

I first met Joe Cardona (Navy) and Andrew East (Vanderbilt) at my Milwaukee, Wisconsin PRO Development Camp for College Kicking, Punting & Snapping Specialist.

At first glance I could tell each snapper had NFL Potential. However, like most young college snappers they all need to learn more importantly to snap and block in a PRO style punt formation. 

In past years I have been very successful helping several other College Specialists make the transition from College snapping to the NFL.  Many of those snappers have been a part of Coach Zauner's Programs which include:  ONE on ONE Snapping Lessons, PRO Development Camps, College Senior or Free Agent Combines; attended one or more of the programs.  Those snappers include: Jon Weeks (Texans), Jeremy Cain (Jaguars), Nick Sundberg (Redskins), Morgan Cox (Ravens), Matt Overton (Colts), Christian Yount (Browns), Kevin McDermott (Vikings), Beau Brinkley (Titans), Kyle Nelson (49ers) and Andrew DePaola (Buccaneers).

Joe Cardona and Andrew East are just two more snappers that have participated in one of Coach Zauner's Programs (PRO Development Camp) and moved on to bigger and better things. 

I believe the sooner I see young College and NFL potential Players, the better I can help educate them and their parents about "The Process".  The "Process" which includes important information about selection of Agents, upcoming Bowl Games, Senior Bowl, PRO Days, Coach Zauner's College Senior Combine and the NFL Draft. 

Knowing important Bowl people like Phil Savage who is the Director of the Senior Bowl  (who I worked with at the Baltimore Ravens) plus, other Bowl Selection committee members helps many specialists get selected to additional Bowl Games for Seniors. 

Also, my NFL network of knowing the NFL Special Teams Coaches, Assistant Special Teams Coaches and Directors of College and Pro Scouting and many excellent Agents is a plus for Kicking, Punting and Snapping Specialists to show case their skills to me as soon as possible.

An attended note: Joe Cardona (Navy) later got invited to the NFL Combine in February in Indiannapolis.  Both entered the 2015 NFL Draft.  Joe was Drafted by the New England Patriots in the 5th Round and Andrew was signed as an Un-Drafted Free Agent by the Kansas City Chiefs.

This year’s College Senior Kicking Combine was a roaring success with 13 of 74 participants signing NFL contracts this offseason.

College Senior Combine attendees were personally selected and invited to attend a three-day combine that would prove to be a launching pad to over a dozen student-athletes.

Under sunny skies in Gilbert, Arizona, the top specialists put their skills to the test in an effort to prove themselves worthy of playing at the next level. Through a series of skills tests and assessments, each specialist was evaluated by Coach Zauner to find out if he truly has NFL potential.  Each participant is given a DVD of his testing at the end of the combine.

Coach Zauner then sends the final results of the combine to every NFL team.  Also, a DVD of the specialists that Coach endorses to have NFL potential gets sent to every NFL Special Teams Coordinator and is posted on YouTube to get maximum exposure. 

Coach Zauner’s College Senior Combine offers a unique opportunity to compete against the country’s elite kickers, punters and snappers while preparing for the pressure and spotlight of future tryouts. Using his years of PRO coaching experience, Coach Zauner separates the specialists into three groups to determine their NFL/CFL readiness.

Group 1: Ready to play at the next level (NFL, CFL)

Group 2: Have potential to play at the next level (NFL, CFL) with minor improvements

Group 3: Would have a difficult time making a roster at the next level.

Too often, athletes are unaware of or inaccurately assess their own skill level. The College Senior Combine is a way for specialists to gauge their true potential and receive genuine feedback by someone who is well-respected in PRO coaching circles.

Jorgen Hus NFL Snapper St. Louis Rams

Jorgen Hus is from Regina Saskatchewan Canada and was playing football for the Regina Rams a couple of years ago when I first met him.  Jorgen called back in 2009 to set up a One on One Lesson  and then followed up with attending a PRO Development Camp 

Jorgen mentioned he learned about my services as a kicking coach through Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan who is also from Regina. Jon mentioned to Jorgen if he wanted to improve his technique and have contacts to get into the NFL he should go to the Phoenix, Arizona and introduce himself and work with Coach Zauner.

Jorgen attended the 2013 January PRO Development Camp in hopes of showing me that he had the talent and potential to play in the NFL.  Every year at January's PRO Development Camp there is an excellent group of college snappers in attendance.  I told Jorgen if he could come and compete with this excellent group of snappers he would answer his own question.

After three days of working the camp we had a conversation.  I told him he had the snapping and coverage skills that NFL teams would like but the lingering question was his weight.  At 225 pounds most NFL teams would consider him a little Saskatchewan.

Three months later Jorgen was back at my 2013 College Senior Specialist's Combine competing with some of the best college senior snappers that had not been invited to the NFL Combine. Jorgen did very well and stood out in the coverage drills.

Jorgen was one of the six snappers I recommended and felt had NFL potential and should be looked at by the 32 NFL Teams.  Jorgen's stats and video were posted on my website and sent to all 32 NFL Teams Directors of College Scouting and Special Teams Coordinators. 

After the 2013 NFL Draft Jorgen was signed by the St. Louis Rams. 

As a side note two other snappers Jackson Anderson (Duke University) and Kevin McDermott (UCLA) also attended the 2013 January PRO Development Camp, took One on One Lesson and competed at the 2013 College Senior Kicking Combine.  Both signed Free Agent Contracts.  Jackson Anderson signed with the Dallas Cowboys and Kevin McDermott is in camp with the San Francisco 49ers. 

Also, Morgan Cox (Baltimore Ravens), Justin Drescher (New Orleans Saints), Christian Yount (Cleveland Browns) and Beau Brinkley (Tennessee Titans) have all come through Coach Zauner's College Senior Kicking Combine Event.

Jorgen now has gone through the St. Louis Rams mini-camp, OTA's and is now preparing for his first NFL training camp.  

Jorgen has a passion for snapping and a goal to play in the NFL. He has worked hard on and off the field to fulfill his dream.  For three years he has flown from Canada to Phoenix, Arizona for One on One Lessons and PRODevelopment Camps to prepare for this day.

Congrats to Appalachian State Punter / Kickoff Specialists, Sam Martin for being drafted in the 5th Round by the Detroit Lions.  In my opinion Sam was in the top two combination Punter / Kickoff Specialists in this years 2013 Draft.

He was also one of 27 punters and 73 kicking specialists that attended Coach Zauner's 2013 College Senior Combine, held March 1-3, 2013 in Gilbert, Arizona.

Coach Zauner's College Senior Combine is producing results for specialists in smaller division schools.  In the 2012 NFL Draft, John Potter (Western Michigan) was Drafted in the 7th Round by the Buffalo Bills.  In this years 2013 NFL Draft it was Sam Martin (Appalachian State University).

Appalachian State University and Western Michigan are two smaller division football schools however, specialists are getting the exposure the deserve and need from my combines.

Coach Zauner's College Senior Combine has become a "Field of Dreams" for several college senior kicking specialists. Some have been drafted and others have signed Free Agent Contracts.  The key is to get the EXPOSURE they want, need and deserve and get into a NFL training camp to compete for a starting job.

The goal of Coach Zauner, LLC and the College Senior Combine is to get any college senior kicking specialists that has NFL potential and was NOT invited to the NFL Combine exposure.

I believe that because I have coached, trained and consulted 22 PRO Bowl and over 95 NFL kicking specialists NFL Special Teams Coaches and Directors of Personnel take notice of the lists, information and videos I gather.

The system is working and I hope it continues to work for the upcoming kicking specialists around the country that have the dream of one day playing in the NFL.  And most hard working specialists say they just want a chance.

Coach Zauner's College Senior and Free Agent Combines are giving kicking specialists the chance they want and deserve as long as they are performing at a high level.

Sam Martin was one of the 16 specialists I recommended to NFL Special Teams Coordinators and so were Tress Way, Ryan Doerr, Kevin McDermott and Jorgen Hus.  As a kicking coach and teacher it is very gratifying to know that what you are doing is having a positive impact on people you are working with and for. 

At the 2013 Kicking Combine Sam demonstrated why he was one of the top two punter / kickoff specialists in this years draft.  Sam was a late entry to my Combine this year and I believe he is pleased that he attended.
