On Wednesday and Thursday Andrew Schmitt, University of Maryland was in Scottsdale, Arizona for some One on One Snapping Lessons. Andrew was the starting long snapper at Maryland for four years and came out here to prepare for his Pro Day and the upcoming NFL Draft.
Andrew did not play in any postseason all star games and was not invited to the NFL Combine. However, after working with him for two days he might turn a couple of heads at his Pro Day.
Andrew is a good athlete and was a quarterback in high school. Andrew has good size at 6'1 and 243 pounds but some NFL people always want just a little bigger size. Like most college players, Andrew has room to grow. He is a very talented snapper with good speed and accuracy.
For two days we worked on refining his technique through different drills. Andrew worked on his snapping routine and new muscle memory.

In the above photo Andrew is working on my 'Elbow Thrust Drill'.In the above photo Andrew worked hard on snapping, vertical setting, blocking and coverage drills. During his One on One Snapping Lessons Andrew refined his technique and I believe he is now even more consistent. Andrew told me he learned a lot and mentioned he was glad he made the trip to Scottsdale.

I really enjoyed working with Andrew and I was impressed with his snapping over the two days he was here. I wish him the best of luck in his pursuit of becoming an NFL snapper.
