Josh Scobee 5 for 5 on Field Goals

Fourth quarter: Scobee Can Do

Jaguars place-kicker Josh Scobee had a down year last season. He made only 18 of 28 attempts, for the poorest percentage of his career (64.3). In March, Scobee visited Arizona-based kicking guru Gary Zauner to fix his technique. Zauner determined Scobee was "crunching" his body forward on longer-range kicks and throwing off his motion. Zauner, a former NFL special teams coach, gave Scobee what amounted to a swing change over two days of practice.

The changes have worked. Scobee was 5 for 5 on field-goal attempts Sunday against the Bills. He booted field goals of 34, 40 and 46 yards in the fourth quarter. Last week, Scobee made a 59-yarder in the final seconds to give the Jaguars an upset win over Indianapolis. Scobee is 10 for 10 on the season.

Zauner has consulted with numerous NFL kickers. He worked with the Bills' Rian Lindell several years ago.
